President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, emphasized the importance of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) as the defenders of the nation and its citizens during a recent ceremony in Batujajar, West Java. In his speech, Prabowo highlighted the TNI’s role as the “child of the people,” stating that they are born from the people, serve the people, and are willing to lay down their lives for the people. He also called on newly appointed commanders to lead with integrity and treat their soldiers like their own children.
Prabowo reiterated the TNI’s duty to be the frontline defenders of Indonesia, emphasizing the concept of total people’s defense and defensive defense. As part of the ceremony, Prabowo appointed General Tandyo Budi Revita as Deputy Commander of the TNI and recognized several individuals for their dedication and integrity with honorary ranks and medals.
The event also marked the inauguration of new TNI units, including Army, Navy, and Air Force Regional Commands, Special Forces Command Groups, Territorial Development Brigades, Marine Infantry Brigades, and Rapid Deployment Force Battalions. The troop review showcased over 27,000 personnel and various defense equipment units from the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
Prabowo’s commitment to the TNI’s role as the protectors of Indonesia reflects the essence of the people’s army, dedicated to serving and defending the nation.
