Prabowo Attends Singapore’s National Day, Warmly Welcomed by Indonesians

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, attended the Singapore National Day Parade on Saturday, August 9, coinciding with Singapore’s 60th Independence Day celebrations. This event is held annually on August 9 to mark the country’s independence in 1965. President Prabowo arrived at Paya Lebar Airbase at 3:40 p.m. local time, accompanied by Minister of Foreign Affairs Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya. The airport welcome was followed by a visit to the hotel where the President would be staying. The hotel lobby was filled with Indonesian citizens, members of the diaspora, students, and officials from the Indonesian Embassy in Singapore, eagerly awaiting the arrival of their Head of State. Upon arrival, President Prabowo personally greeted each individual, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The expatriate community, including university students, expressed their joy and patriotic spirit during the visit. This visit not only strengthened the bond between Indonesia and Singapore but also highlighted the President’s personal connection and accessibility to his citizens living abroad.
