State Support for Children: Nutrition, Health, and Safe Schools

Indonesia’s National Children’s Day is more than just a yearly celebration. President Prabowo Subianto aims to use this occasion to take tangible steps in securing the future of the nation’s children. According to Dedek Prayudi, a Senior Expert at the Presidential Communications Office (PCO), the government has launched three key programs targeting the well-being of children: Nutritious Free Meals (MBG), Free Health Checkups (CKG), and School Revitalization. MBG focuses not only on keeping children full but also on providing them with proper daily nutrition. Many children go to school without eating breakfast, leading to issues like iron deficiency anemia, which can impact their cognitive abilities. Free Health Checkups include screenings for various health aspects like height, weight, vision, and mental health, aiming to fulfill the constitutional mandate of ensuring the right to health for all citizens. The School Revitalization Program will renovate numerous schools across the country to provide safe and dignified learning environments for students, particularly prioritizing those in underprivileged areas. President Prabowo has allocated a significant budget to address the urgent need for school repairs, emphasizing the importance of creating a conducive learning environment for all students in the country. The government’s initiatives underscore the commitment to safeguarding the well-being and future of Indonesia’s youth.
