Prabowo’s Advice to Officers: Lead by Example

President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, emphasized the importance of newly commissioned officers of the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and National Police (Polri) setting a positive example in their daily lives. At the 2025 Oath-Taking and Commissioning Ceremony at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, President Prabowo urged the young officers to internalize their oath of office as a solemn commitment to serve the nation and its people. He reminded them of the sacred oath taken before Almighty God and the Indonesian people, emphasizing the need for full awareness of their willingness to sacrifice for the country. The President highlighted the significance of deeply understanding and living out their oath with integrity, as a manifestation of their readiness to sacrifice for the nation. President Prabowo also stressed the great responsibility that comes with being an officer, including safeguarding the nation’s sovereignty and the security of its people. Reflecting on Indonesia’s struggle for independence, he reminded the officers of the sacrifices made and the challenges ahead. The President cautioned against weakness, division, and bowing to foreign interests, emphasizing the need for strength and unity to overcome threats and challenges.
