Prabowo Mourns Indonesian Pencak Silat Champion’s Passing

President Prabowo Subianto paid his respects at the funeral of the late Major General (Ret.) Eddie Marzuki Nalapraya, a renowned figure in Indonesian pencak silat, held at the Pencak Silat Training Center in Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII), East Jakarta. Dressed in a brown safari suit and black peci cap, President Prabowo arrived at 3:45 p.m. to offer his condolences to Eddie’s family, salute his casket, and comfort his loved ones. He commended Eddie Nalapraya for his significant contributions to pencak silat as a national hero and former IPSI Chairman, emphasizing the art’s role in shaping the national character. Recognizing Eddie’s unwavering dedication, President Prabowo highlighted his tireless promotion of pencak silat on both the domestic and international stages. In recognition of his lifetime achievements, Eddie Nalapraya was posthumously awarded the Bintang Mahaputera. President Prabowo concluded by offering prayers for Eddie Nalapraya’s eternal peace and bidding farewell to the respected figure, recognizing his profound impact on Indonesian pencak silat.
