Washington, D.C. – U.S. President-elect Donald Trump praised Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto as an exceptional leader, as captured in a conversation posted on Prabowo’s personal Instagram account, @prabowo, on Sunday evening, November 10 (WIB).
“What you’re doing in Indonesia is very impressive. I’m proud of you. Outstanding,” Trump said.
During the conversation, Trump also complimented Prabowo’s English skills and acknowledged the unique qualities Prabowo brings as a leader.
“You’re doing remarkable things. You are deeply respected. You are a person of high regard, and I recognize that—it’s not easy to achieve,” Trump added.
“Thank you, sir,” Prabowo replied.
Prabowo conveyed his delight at Trump’s election victory and expressed a desire to meet in person to congratulate him directly.
“If possible, I’d like to come meet you wherever you are to extend my congratulations personally,” Prabowo said.
“Oh, absolutely. That would be great. We can arrange it anytime you wish,” Trump responded.
Trump also expressed his intention to visit Indonesia one day and extended his respect to Prabowo and the Indonesian people.
“It’s an honor to speak with you, and I look forward to meeting you. Please give my warm regards to your people—I have great respect for them and for you,” Trump said.
Prabowo is currently in the U.S. to attend a meeting with U.S. President Joe Biden, marking his first visit to the country as Indonesia’s president. (RR)
