President Prabowo’s Deep Support for PCO Farmers: A Special Connection

President Prabowo Subianto has always shown a deep connection with farmers, as stated by Dedek Prayudi, a Senior Expert at the Presidential Communication Office (PCO). Prabowo’s bond with farmers can be traced back to his time as a military officer, where he received assistance from local communities and farmers. Furthermore, his leadership in the Indonesian Farmers Harmony Association (HKTI) further solidified this connection. This sentiment was shared by Dedek Prayudi, also known as Uki, during the grand corn harvest event for the Food Security Program in Jenggalu Village, Seluma Regency, Bengkulu Province. The program is essential in light of global circumstances that necessitate Indonesia’s reduced reliance on foreign food supplies. By increasing government support through subsidized fertilizers, pesticides, and agricultural machinery, farmers can enhance their productivity. Uki encouraged the village head to expedite administrative processes for farmers to access subsidized fertilizers, emphasizing the importance of not letting government facilities go to waste. The National Food Agency (Pusdatin Bapanas) also voiced their support for President Prabowo’s efforts, collaborating with the State Logistics Agency (Bulog) to absorb farmers’ corn harvests and integrate supply chains with livestock breeders. This initiative aims to improve not only crop production but also livestock prices, ensuring a better livelihood for farmers. The gathering was attended by various officials and stakeholders, highlighting the government’s commitment to enhancing food security and supporting local farmers.
