Prabowo Welcomes Peruvian President and Students Join Festivities

President of Indonesia, Prabowo Subianto, warmly welcomed President Dina Ercilia Boluarte Zegarra of Peru at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta. The visit, which took place on Monday, was made special with the participation of approximately 3,000 students from different schools in the capital. President Boluarte’s motorcade, flanked by motorcycle troops and mounted guards, made its way from the National Monument to the palace gates, where she was greeted by President Prabowo. The two leaders then stood together on the ceremonial podium as the national anthems of both countries were played. After the anthems, they inspected the honor guard and paid homage to their respective flags.

During the visit, President Prabowo introduced key members of his delegation, including Ministers of Foreign Affairs, State Secretariat, Investment and Downstreaming, Agriculture, and Trade, as well as the Cabinet Secretary. The bilateral meeting that followed aimed to strengthen the ties between Indonesia and Peru, both of which are members of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC).

This meeting marked President Boluarte’s reciprocal visit to Indonesia following President Prabowo’s official visit to Peru the year before. The visit underscores the ongoing diplomatic exchange between the two nations, fostering closer cooperation and collaboration in various spheres.
