Prabowo Subianto, the President of Indonesia, emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong defense for the country in the midst of a rapidly changing global landscape. Speaking at the Operational Troop Review and Military Honors Ceremony, Prabowo urged young soldiers to remember Indonesia’s history, especially the struggles faced during colonial rule.
He highlighted the need for a robust army to ensure the nation’s freedom and sovereignty, especially in the face of complex and unpredictable challenges from external forces. Prabowo expressed concern over the current global situation, citing ongoing conflicts that have resulted in the suffering of vulnerable populations.
While reaffirming Indonesia’s neutrality in geopolitical matters, Prabowo emphasized the necessity of a strong defense capability. During the ceremony, he appointed new military commanders and conferred honors on deserving individuals for their dedication and integrity.
The event also marked the inauguration of several new military units, showcasing Indonesia’s commitment to strengthening its defense forces. The troop review showcased the readiness of over 27,000 personnel and a range of defense assets from the Army, Navy, and Air Force.
