Optimizing BGN’s Recruitment Strategy for MBG Nutrition Program Kitchens

National Nutrition Agency (BGN) is making strides in promoting local employment by enlisting workers for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (SPPG) from individuals living in extreme poverty. Redy Hendra Gunawan, a Special Staff member at BGN, shared that a minimum of 30% of the workforce in each SPPG will come from disadvantaged backgrounds, aligning with the President’s directive to ensure the Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) Program contributes to job creation. Presently, there are 2,378 SPPG units established in partnership with 6,076 local economic institutions, with 93,572 community members volunteering in the program. Over 7.4 million individuals nationwide, including students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers, have benefited from the MBG Program. To enhance the program’s reach, BGN intends to introduce an additional 2,401 SPPG units within the next 10 days, with a goal of serving approximately 15 million beneficiaries. This initiative showcases a concerted effort to bolster job opportunities and address nutritional needs in marginalized communities.
