In a video conference focusing on the inauguration of renewable energy development and oil production expansion in East Java, Prabowo highlighted Indonesia’s ability to efficiently produce energy and reduce logistics costs.
Energy independence is crucial to Indonesia’s vision of national sovereignty, with the government planning to launch 55 new renewable energy projects, including geothermal power plants, to supply clean and reliable energy throughout the archipelago. President Prabowo praised the collaborative efforts of various ministries, regulatory bodies, and energy companies like Medco Energi and ExxonMobil in supporting Indonesia’s energy transition.
While acknowledging the country’s significant oil and gas reserves, Prabowo emphasized the importance of renewable energy, particularly solar power, in achieving energy self-sufficiency for communities nationwide.
